Registry of Intentions updated
CLH
The registry of intentions was updated with a new intention for harmonised classification and labelling from Finland for the substance propiconazole (ISO); 1-[[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-propyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl]methyl]-1H-1,2,4-triazole (EC 262-104-4). The expected date of submission is in June 2015.
Two harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposals were submitted: silicon carbide fibre, to be further specified (EC 206-991-8) submitted by the Netherlands and copper pyrithione (EC 238-984-0) submitted by Sweden.

New consultation on the harmonised classification and labelling on the chemical anthraquinone launched
ECHA has launched a 45-day public commenting period on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposal anthraquinone submitted by Germany.
This substance is mainly used in the paper/pulp industry and as an intermediate for synthesising other chemicals. There is currently no harmonised classification for anthraquinone and the dossier submitter is proposing classification for carcinogenicity. The final date for submitting comments is 7 April 2015.

Tenth Stakeholders' Day conference – new speakers confirmed
27 May 2015, Helsinki
This year's programme features more views from industry representatives, Member States and stakeholder organisations than ever before. 12 new speakers have been confirmed including speakers from the UK Chemical Business Association (CBA), the Downstream Users of Chemicals Coordination Group (DUCC) and the Dow Chemical Company.
The Stakeholders' Day offers participants the chance to hear the latest news and updates from ECHA, European industry associations and NGOs. The event takes place in conjunction with the annual Helsinki Chemicals Forum taking place from 28 to 29 May. Participation to the Stakeholders' Day is free of charge.

Sixth meeting of the NGO-ECHA discussion platform
4 February 2015
NGO representatives and ECHA met in February for the sixth meeting of the platform. The topics included the application for authorisation process, ECHA's approach to transparency and animal welfare. The meeting covered the economic feasibility of alternatives in the authorisation process, follow-up of the recent ombudsman decision on the promotion of alternative methods and progress made with guidance and web updates for skin and eye irritation, skin sensitisation and reproductive toxicity.
